Environmental Permits

The Environmental Permitting, Compliance, and Enforcement Section is charged with the responsibility of reviewing plans, issuing permits, performing inspections and pursuing enforcement for any activity that will cause a negative impact on the natural resources of Orange County, as protected by the County Comprehensive Policy Plan and specifically in Chapters 15 and 33 of Orange County Code. This includes the construction of boat docks, shoreline alterations (including seawall construction), lakeshore vegetation removal or enhancement, wetland and/or surface water impacts, and boat ramp construction. Some activities must be confirmed and/or approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
