2026 Contractor Licensing Renewal Information
The following information applies to contractors and competency card holders registered with Orange County. You can now manage your contractor licensing account through the Fast Track My License page. The new Contractor Licensing Document Upload Tool allows you to securely upload required documents directly to your account. An online training course is available to help you learn how to use this new feature.
License Types
State Certified Contractors
Fee : No fee required. Pursuant to Sections 489.113(4)(a) and 489.131(3)(f), Florida Statutes, no renewal fee is assessed for State Certified Contractors.
Competency Card Holders
Applies to : RC, RX (AS), SC, ER, ET — Sign Specialty Only, RF, and IS.
Renewal fee on or before September 30, 2026 : $75.00
Late fee after September 30, 2026 : Additional $5.00
These fees apply only to competency cards that are currently valid and expire on September 30, 2026.
Journeyman Electrical and Plumbing with Gas
Applies to : ELJ, ELR, REJ, PJ, and RPJ
Renewal fee on or before September 30, 2026 : $43.00
Late fee after September 30, 2026 : Additional $5.00
These fees apply only to competency cards that are currently valid and expire on September 30, 2026.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas and Mobile Home Contractors
Applies to : LPG and MH (IH)
Renewal fee on or before September 30, 2026 : $22.00

Services Available
Orange County’s Fast Track tools provide much more than online permitting and plans submittal. Search for Development Cases, Field Investigative Reports, Hearings and Meetings, Inspections, Licensed Contractors, Permit Search (all types) or Properties (Address or Parcel). These tools will help you follow your permit application through the approval process, verify that your contractor’s license is valid, get information about recent meetings and much more. All of the search tools are available to anyone, without a member services account.

Sub Contractors
Use Fast Track online services to apply for all sub-permits. To learn more about the Sub-Permit application process, please visit the video library on the Fast Track Training Hub.
Read more +Fast Track Member Services permit application tool is currently offered for homeowners and sub-trades license holders for electrical, plumbing, irrigation, gas, roofing and HVAC/mechanical contractors. Non-license holders may also apply for permits but a Licenced Contractor must be assigned and accept the issuance of the permit using their Fast Track account.

Before Orange County will issue any building or sub-trade permit, all issuance processes listed on the permit must be complete. On Fast Track, please check to ensure that all the required processes have been successfully completed.Note that only homeowners who have completed the Owner-Builder Disclosure Statement and accounts connected to verified Contractor License holders may accept the issuance of permits. Third-parties may also apply for permits on behalf of a contractor and assign the permit to a contractor, who must accept issuance. Building Contractors
Building (Including Pool, and Specialty) contractors must use Fast Track to apply for all permit types as well as pay for re-inspection and after-hours inspection fees.
