Petition to Vacate

Petitions requesting the vacation of County Rights of Way or Easements are submitted to the Orange County Public Works Development Engineering Division for research and review. A mandatory pre-application meeting with Development Engineering personnel is required prior to filing a Petition to Vacate. The Orange County Real Estate Management Division will review all proposed petitions. Other divisions may also need to review and approve the request prior to the formal submittal. After the petition is reviewed and approved by County staff, the Clerk of the BCC will determine the date of the public hearing.
